Montana, known as Big Sky Country, has something to please everyone and
great western hospitality is alive and well at Montana hotels and
attractions. From the wondrous Yellowstone to the majestic Glacier, Montana's National Parks inspire and astound.
Taking in everything that these parks have to offer is something that
you'll never forget. Think of Montana as a giant, natural animal preserve
with a greater variety of wildlife than any other state in the lower 48.
In Glacier, you may see elk, moose and deer foraging or mountain goats and
bighorn sheep pawing for lichens and grasses or from a safe distance you
may view a black or grizzly bear in their natural setting. In Yellowstone,
you'll find wildlife species as diverse as trumpeter swans, grizzly bear,
elk, bison, wolves and many others.

Recreation Information
Overview
surrounded by the Continental Divide, Butte is known for its rich history in Copper Mining. The Berkley Pit was the world's largest open pit mine, spanning from 5,600 feet wide and 1 mile deep. Everything from mine frames to museums to Victorian homes can still be visited throughout the area. For recreation, there is no better place for mountain climbing, biking, rock climbing, fishing, hunting, skiing, and hiking, all within very few miles of us. We are between 2 national parks. (Yellowstone & Glacier). Several places nearby that produce outstanding mineral specimens and crystals for amateur rock hounds. Very fine specimens of clear quartz crystals, smoky quartz, and amethyst have come from the digging. Gold panning can be done in any of the nearby creeks.
Highland Mountains
South of Butte approximately 12 milesThese beautiful mountains have awesome wildlife. They are used for snowmobiling, hunting, rock climbing, hiking, photography, mountain biking, or just having a picnic and enjoying the fresh mountain air.
